Silesian Stadium is one of the most recognisable landmarks of Upper Silesia. It’s a unique and historical brand deeply rooted in the memories and hearts of Silesian people. Our task was to let this brand gain a new graphic reflection that will be present in the promotional activities of the revived facility from now on. In Autumn 2017, Silesian Stadium will once again open its gates for athletes and participants of cultural and business events. We were to take a modernist approach towards commemoration of historical and architectural context. We were aware that the crucial factors of the new ID had to be: recognisability, timelessness and uniqueness of the brand, keeping in mind people as priority: fans and players above anything else. Stadium as source of emotions. So the message had to be simple and clear leaving the development of the brand through ecosystem of gadgets.
The ellipse-shaped sign refers to the track and track space. The logotype also includes a space for the pitch, white field inside the letter S, while the upper opening, which is also the accent of the letter S, represents the openness of the stadium to all fans and players. The multiplicity of the line is also a reference to the sports lettering in the early times of the stadium. Our intention was to create a strong and very distinctive sign. The coloring of the new image of the Silesian Stadium oscillates around calm colors (dominated by white and graphite). Only accents and complementary elements in turquoise are more vivid. We did not want to overload it with too many colors so that it could look well and function perfectly in various environments.
